Introducing the Michelle Style!

Happy Holidays!!

I am very excited to show a sneak preview of the new Michelle Style! This style has gathered shoulders that you can wear three different ways.  It has an empire waist, and drapes with a slight A shape, making it fun and flirty.  I am very happy with the way this style fits, and have worn it out on the town, receiving many compliments on it!  It is again, very versatile.  It can be worn any time of year, looks great on it's own in the summer with flip flops, or dresses up with tights and boots.

 This is the first of three that we are working on, the Danika style is on the cutting table!  We will be featuring this new style in Burgundy.

This dress will be available for purchasing in the spring!

End of Summer Sale

Hello!!

It has been a very unique summer.  My mother passed away on August 9th, peacefully.  She was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioma four and a half months ago.  I am very proud of her, she was extremely brave through to the very end.  I miss her every day, but I know that she is always with me, guiding me and loving me forever.

 It was she that always told me to design dresses when I was too insecure to follow my passion.  She told me a story that I vaguely recall.

I was sitting on her bed while she was getting ready to go to a local dance.  She walked into the bedroom, did a spin and asked, "How do you like my new dress Laura?"  My reply... "I really like the colour, but I don't like the style."  I was not yet 5 years old.

I remember later, when I was 7 and 8 spending hours drawing and designing dresses.  Mom was always so impressed with my creations. She would encourage me by reminding me that they were indeed, beautiful and to carry on with this passion that I had at such a young age.  I was raised by an dynamic, talented, creative women.. how lucky I have been.

Get Sexy For Summer

Hello!

I hope that everyone is enjoying the long weekend!  Canada Day was a beautiful day here in Victoria B.C. The city was bustling with local musicians, street vendors, talented street performers, and glorious fireworks!  It was a great way to celebrate being Canadian, eh?!

I am so pleased to announce that I had a very talented Canadian singer and song writer, Aspen Switzer model one of the Blythe Style Muse dresses in chocolate brown for her show, here in Victoria at Logans Pub last night!! I am delighted to have supported Aspen, as she has such an amazing talent.  

I would like to share a video that sums up my last trunk show, a get together that we named "Get Sexy For Summer"  This event took place near China Town, where we gathered local women in business.
We included skin care and cosmetics from Arbonne, jewelry from Wild Abandon, Party shoes, local free Yoga classes, door prizes, with partial proceeds going to Bridges for Women, a non profit organization supporting local women in need.

Please keep in mind that I may have had one or two glasses of vino before filming this:)

Thank you all for attending, I was glowing for two days after this show!!

Feel Wonderful

Hello to my dear followers,

I have finally come up with my message.  It has been on my mind for several months, that one little mantra that sums up Muse for me.  I have decided on...drum roll....Feel Wonderful!  My intention is that every time a women steps into a Muse dress, that she feels wonderful.  That is the root of Muse, this is what it is all about for me. 

I have decided to make my blogs more personal.  I thought that it might be fun to share my journey with all of you.  My mother is fighting for her life, and I have recently discovered how much stronger we all are than we know.

So, here is a photo of me and my family.  We had a hobby farm, my community of Mable Lake had only 300 residence.  I went to a schoolhouse that had 20 students in the whole school, grades one to five.  There was no pavement, nature was my everyday environment, my playground.  Laura the "Free Range" child.  I was so lucky.

 Night Chant: "Life and Death are of Supreme Importance.  Time passes Swiftly, and Opportunity is Lost.  LET US AWAKEN!  Awaken."  

This quote is pinned to my wall, next to my computer so that I never forget.  It was a gift from one of my beautiful Muse, Lena.

Muse Spring Photo Shoot 2011

We have just completed an AMAZING two day photo shoot, and what a success it was!  I am so fortunate to have worked with such talented professionals, it was truly inspiring.

This was my first experience with an on location shoot. We covered six diverse locations including a gritty laundromat, and a posh hotel lobby.  Exhausting but well worth it!

Muse Clothing Company will be hosting a GET SEXY FOR SUMMER party, in China town on May 23rd.  Featuring organic skin care products, cosmetics, shoes and jewelry, with partial proceeds going to Bridges For Women here in Victoria.  A great party for a great cause!

Spring into a New Dress!!

Spring is here, and that means it's time to get sexy.. big floppy hats, bare legs and sandals, and dresses, dresses, we love 'em!!

We are into production of the 2011 spring line!  Here is a sneak preview of the Laura Dress, one of our new Muses.  We have also added some beautiful spring colours to our palette.

I will be attending Fashion Fights Cancer here in Victoria.  This means a great deal to me, my mother was recently diagnosed with Glioma.  It has changed my life, my perspective.  She reminds me to enjoy every day, and not to sweat the small stuff.  That is the silver lining.


There will be raffle, and the winner will receive a Muse dress of their choice!
